Turning Waste into a truly renewable resource.

The Nuterials Way.
1 | Material
Durable. Lightweight. Attractive. Biodegradable.
Walnut shells are primarily composed of hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin, with smaller amounts of proteins, lipids, and minerals. These natural components contribute to the shells' strength and durability (that you fight when trying to crack them). While the nut itself has some allergenic properties, the shell is hypoallergenic - meaning it won't harm people with nut allergies.
Their inherent oil resistance, attributed to the presence of lignin, makes them the ideal protection against grease and moisture. Their dense structure provides natural UV protection that can preserve the quality of products. Walnut shells are lightweight yet remarkably sturdy making them the perfect eco-conscious alternative to fossil-based plastics.
2 | Solution
Walnut shells are not just a waste product; they are a valuable resource waiting to be utilized. Currently, only a fraction of the shell waste is repurposed.

We found a way to upcycle these walnut shell waste into sturdy biobased, biodegradable materials. So Nuterials is a way to lower your products carbon footprint by around 60%, without having to compromise for quality, aesthetics or performance.
3 | Product Offer
To offer a wide adoption of our material we develop it to seamlessly fit in with standard plastic machinery.
Therefore we are creating two versions; one for thermopressing applications and the other for injection molding and additive manufacturing practices.
4 | Nuterials for your Business
