Thoughtfulness is a big word. For us, it means going the whole way and challenging the status quo at every step. It's never an afterthought but the underlying starting point.
Our raw material is a sidestream that would otherwise go unused, and collecting it doesn’t require additional land use, cutting down trees, or taking food away from people or animals. Combined with our binder, it stays designed for full biodegradability across environments.
Upcycling what we have on earth already is important, but it often still involves fossil-based materials and energy-intensive processes, and when things end up in the wrong place, they can still harm nature.
That’s why we don’t want to chase quick fixes. Instead, we work towards full circularity, allowing our materials to return safely to nature at the end of their life.

We believe good design starts with simplicity. That means a material that’s easy to understand, easy to use, and easy to love. By transforming something as humble as nutshells, we keep things uncomplicated, proving that simple solutions can make the biggest impact.
We don’t overload our recipe with unnecessary additives so we have the walnut shells with their natural strength and character, and a binder derived from fermentation of sidestreams, certified biobased and biodegradable in soil, compost, and marine environments.*
The same goes for the conversion of our material. We’ve built it to work with existing production infrastructure, so switching to our material is seamless and uncomplicated for manufacturers.
